Your show, before the hang

Upload the works you plan to show, give each its size, and see them hung together in a gallery: straight on, and from where a visitor stands. Download installation views for an open call, a preview email or the first conversation with the gallery, before a crate is packed.

For artists preparing a show or an open-call application, and galleries planning a hang.

Installation views

Straight on, and from the door

A flat mockup shows the wall square on. A visitor never sees it that way. They walk in and meet the hang from the side, the near work larger and the spacing read along the wall.

The galleries

Each gallery below shows the same two sample paintings at their sizes. Add your own works further down and they take the samples’ place in every room at once.

Your works

Hang your show

Add each work with its width and height. Two hang together without an account, and up to 8 with a free one.

Then add the next: two works without an account, up to 8 with a free one.

White-walled gallery with a polished concrete floor

Two sample paintings, 82 × 100 cm and 50 × 44 cm, hung together at their real sizes. Add your own works above and they take their place here and in every room below.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. STEP 01

    Upload the works

Add each work with its width and height, in centimetres or inches. Framed works hang at their framed size.

  2. STEP 02

    Choose a gallery

Every gallery on the page shows your hang at once. Pick a straight-on wall or an angled one.

  3. STEP 03

    Download the views

Download installation views with no watermark, or open the hang in the studio to move works along the wall.

Where it helps

Before the show, not after it

Open calls and residencies

Applications ask for installation views. Show how the works sit together on a wall, at their sizes, before the show exists.

The preview email

Send collectors the hang before the opening, so the first conversation is about which work, not what it looks like.

Planning with the gallery

Try the order and the spacing with the curator before the works travel. Swapping a work takes seconds, not a rehang.

Art fair booths

A booth is a few white walls. Hang the works you plan to bring and see whether the wall holds them before you ship.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this a virtual exhibition?
No. It makes installation views: still images of your works hung in a gallery, straight on or from an angle, that you download and send. There is no 3D gallery to walk around and nothing for visitors to log into.
How many works can I hang together?
Up to 8 on one wall. Without an account you can add two; a free account takes you to 8.
Are the works shown at their real sizes?
Yes. Each work hangs at the width and height you enter, so a 30 cm study and a two-metre canvas read as they will on the wall.
Can I see the hang from an angle?
Yes. Some galleries are photographed from the side, the way a visitor walking in sees the wall, and your works are drawn in that perspective.
Can I use it for an art fair booth?
Yes, as a check on the walls. Hang the works you plan to bring in a white-walled room and see whether they fit and how they sit together. It does not plan the booth’s floor or lighting.
Can I change the hang?
Yes. Open it in the studio to drag each work along the wall, try another room, add a frame or make more views.
Is it free, and are downloads watermarked?
Free to try with no account, and no download carries a watermark. Some galleries need a free account to download, which also opens 700+ rooms and keeps your works for next time.
