Mounts and frames for prints

What you can choose, and how each one looks on the wall.

Window mount

A board with a window cut for the print, a bevelled edge round the opening and the print’s shadow falling into it. The classic look for etchings, giclée prints and photographs.

Float mount

The print sits on the board with its edges showing, for deckled paper or a print whose edge is part of the work.

Mount colour and width

White, off-white, cream, black or any colour, as narrow or as wide as you like. A wide mount makes a small print look more important.

Slim frames

Black, white, oak, walnut, gold or silver, flat or moulded, the frames most prints are sold in.

Box and floating frames

A deeper box frame, or a floating frame with a gap round the work, in wood, painted or metallic finishes.

Rooms for prints

Hallways over a console, bedrooms over a nightstand, a kitchen counter and a chest of drawers: the smaller walls where prints usually hang.

Why it works

Built for the art trade, not templates

Shows the print finished

A buyer sees the print as it will arrive or hang, mounted and framed, not as a bare sheet.

Try mounts before you cut one

Compare a narrow and a wide mount, or white and cream, in the same room in seconds.

Your print, untouched

The mount and frame are drawn round your image. The print itself is never retouched.

Free, no watermark

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a mounted print?
A print set behind a card mount (a mat in the US), usually with a window cut for the print, then framed. The mount keeps the print off the glass and gives it a border.
Can I choose the mount colour and width?
Yes. Any colour, and any width, for a window mount or a float mount. Pick it once and every room shows it.
Does the mount change the size on the wall?
Yes. Give the print’s own size, and the mount and frame are added round it, so the framed print hangs at the size it really is.
Is it free?
Yes. Upload your work and see it in every room on this page with no account; without one you can add two works. A free account opens the full library of 730+ rooms and includes 5 downloads. Paid plans are for higher volume, and nothing on this page needs one.
Can I use the images commercially?
Yes. You can use them for any purpose, including shop listings such as Etsy, your website, social media, advertising and print. There is no watermark on any plan.
What size are the downloads?
Downloads from this page are 1600 px JPGs. In the app, room images download at 2048 px, or 4096 px (4K) with 4K downloads switched on in Settings, your work drawn from your own image at that size.
